public beach

Strathmore Alberta is about to get a new water source and they will be decommissioning the old fresh water holding pond. This pond is 1/2 Kilometre square with very gradual slopes to the water.. My idea is to convert this reservoir to a community beach. This part of Alberta is very dry and there are no public beaches in the area. Our children do not have a lake water resource to go to. If his was developed it would make 2 kilometres of beach front. The structure is there but we would have to do something to treat the water, better access to the pond, Build a jogging track around the perimeter and put in play areas for the children. Our Lions club would like to be involved in this project but your contribution would be appreciated. As this would be the only beach in southern Alberta I think this would become a very big tourist draw for our town
