Promote well being-Raise awareness-Encourage people to celebrate the gift of life - Feel interconnected
What is Yoga In The Nightclub?
The entertainment industry provides an opportunity to make a positive impact within community and our natural environment. When used consciously the entertainment industry is a powerful tool to catalyze cultural change.
The art of Yoga reaches far beyond the impression most westerns have as being a series of bendy, physical exercises that turn your body into a pretzel. Yoga is a systematic body of knowledge and a practice that is about integrated living, rooted in the fullness of being, one’s highest good, one’s deepest joy.
How does Yoga In The Nightclub support the environment?
The first step to a yogic state of being is breath awareness. How can we promote healthy breathing if the planet that supports us is gasping for air? This is why a percentage of all proceeds from Yoga In The Nightclub goes towards reforestation and community tree planting.
How does Yoga In The Nightclub promote well-being?
People who come to Parvati’s shows know that once they step into the club they are transported into a land of magic where anything and everything is possible. Everything is possible because we are all interconnected beings of love and light. The shows celebrate the gift of life and the positive possibilities.
When one person makes a positive change it effects many, that is why Parvati invites charities to her shows. At the recent Toronto show at the MOD Club the Amma Foundation of Canada, Stephen Lewis Foundation, Ontario Nature and One Match set up information booths.
How does Yoga In The Nightclub stimulate culture and support a healthy lifestyle?
When the ancient art of Yoga meets the current expression of popular culture people are reminded that the true power centre is within and that lifestyle choices can be fun, inspired, vital and positive.
The synthesis of these two industries is Yoga In The Nightclub.
The premise:
Yoga In The Nightclub brings together the 128,213 twitter followers of Deepak Chopra with Madonna fans, the conscious generation who like to have fun and make positive change.
Imagine a large publicly music venue (either a legion hall or The Harbourfront Centre) that is both a dance club and a concert hall transformed into a very chic zen den. If you have been to New York, Paris, London, Dubai this is nothing new. So what makes this so special?
Imagine:
A show that is an event. A show that engages audiences. A show that supports the gift of life. A show that inspires positive change. This show is called Yoga In The Nightclub and is being compared to Madonna and Cirque Du Soleil. This is why Cirque Du Soleil’s former artistic director believes Yoga In The Nightclub will become one of Canada’s most important shows.
Part 1: Interconnection
Upon entering the club you are welcomed by a friendly greeter with a cup of hot herbal tea or a glass of water with fresh lemon slices. The club is lined with green plants and filled with exotic and inspiring aromatherapy scents.
On the outside of the dance-floor are tables, chairs and booth filled with Not For Profit organizations who are there to bring awareness and support for their wonderful causes.
The DJ is playing cool music that makes you feel relaxed and invigorated. The volume is loud enough to hear but not too loud that people can’t talk.
The DJ lights are gently sweeping over the dance floor, which has been transformed into a field of massage tables.
PART 2: Innerconnection
At a certain point, the DJ announces that the massage tables are open so please come and have a complementary massage.
PART 3: Yoga In The Nightclub
A mindfulness bell rings. The massage tables are removed from the dance floor and in its place yoga mats are placed down.
Then an introduction to yoga class for those who wish to participate starts. The class is basic for beginners and focusses on quieting the mind amongst the busyness of life.
PART 4: That which one focuses on grows:
A 5 minute group meditation and visualization for world peace.
PART 5: Yoga In The Nightclub Show:
The climax of the evening is a live multi media show that includes music with video art installation and live dance (hip-hop, modern and breaking) and acrobats. The show starts with a character called Natamba who arrives, from another dimension, to Earth through ethereal sparks of light. Natamba is dressed in liquid gold from head to toe and carries a message of hope and positive possibilities. Audiences are left with a feeling of joy and connection. Her show is compared to Madonna and Cirque Du Soleil.
A DJ will come on after the show so people can stay and dance.
During all of this the organic juice bar is serving fresh squeezed juices, smoothies and other healthy treats.

I was intrigued by the concept but gotta say "what a hoax" as a needy proposition. This is a business plan for a business to make money. It's great but doesn't belong here.

umm this looks pretty silly. yoga isn't about doing a show with dancing & prancing around & looking sexy. Mcfuller is right too, doesn't make sense.

This so very much belongs here. Live Aid brought attention and solutions to Africa's food crisis. Live 8 brought attention to the global warming crisis. This event brings attention to individuals shining and communities coming together.

Innovative solution for solving problems and bringing communities together. The world is in crisis and people need to be reminded that we each are beacons of love and light. With this inner light we can each be lamps shining collectively. This is the first step to ensuring our planet, our environment, our communities and our families stand a chance.

Yoga is an ancient spiritual discipline that teaches us to live in I AM consciousness, our true nature beyond our ego. Life is an opportunity to embody the love-light we are and serve that in all. Everyone everywhere shares the need to feel love and be love. Yoga In the Nightclub is in service to the love-light within all. The proposal addresses specific social needs and supports lasting internal change within individuals. By addressing both, not only does Yoga in the Nightclub help organizations serve those in need, it also assists people become transformative beacons of light, which broadens the reach of seva (selfless service) in our communities. Hoax? Only if you feel the light we each are is smoke and mirrors reflected in a disco ball. May all beings be happy. May all beings be at peace.

Nada Yoga is an ancient yogic art and science that teaches spiritual transformation through sound. Classical Indian art forms, such as music and dance, are rooted in yogic wisdom and acknowledge the potency of art as a means to express the divine. Ritual and spiritual invocation are woven into artistic creation and performance. Yoga also encompasses embodying the divine through sexuality as an expression of god-within-form. Tantra Yoga, though greatly misunderstood in the West, teaches the aspirant to release limited desire and embody eternal bliss, while meeting all vibrations with non-attached steadiness and clarity. To read more about the immense richness of yogic wisdom, check out authors such as Georg Feuerstein, PH.D., who wrote “Yoga: The Technology of Ecstasy”. http://www.amazon.com/Yoga-Technology-Ecstasy-George-Feuerstein/dp/0874775205

Yoga can help connect people to themselves, Yoga is a state of mind. This idea, helps people to remember that they are infact vital and integral. I love this and hope it gets supported.

I am so pleased to see how many people get this project. It is indeed outside of the normal, but is so very necessary. The last time this event was put on the charities that were there were so grateful that they had an opportunity to be seen. People were so very much receptive to learning about how they can get involved and make a change. Yet we can make a bigger difference first and foremost by making a personal change. Thank you all.

I love this. Wow unique fun and vibrant. Great concept. Great initiative. I can see how this is so very different to a concert, or a yoga class. I was wondering how we could get adults and youth together to make a change. This seems to be the very vehicle. Good luck! I hope the judges see the merit in this project. Aviva, give them the money. This seems to be philanthropic and inventive.
