I would like to make a difference and try and help find a cure for diabetes. I am one of the over 2 million Canadians who have diabetes. I am a member of Team Diabetes Canada and as a team mate I have made the commitment to conquer the canyon. Conquer the canyon is a endurance trek through the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Along with the challenge of the canyon I will be training for the next 10 months and participating in local road races to promote awareness.
The challenge will not be my training or even the canyon, but will be to raise 4,900 dollars. This money will go directly to education, awareness and research done by the Canadian diabetes association. The Canadian Diabetes Association provides support for people affected by diabetes. Not only will people in my community of Edmonton benifit but Canadians nation wide.
I am counting on your support to reach my goal and in return I will: - Run over 500 km during training - Spend over 1500 hrs training ( it is Alberta.. It WILL be COLD) - Conquer the canyon in Arizona in September 2010 - Raise 4,900 dollars for The Canadian Diabetes Association

Many people have had great success over diabetes with just food. Look into the 'raw vegan diet'.
