Aperçu:

Our Organization wants to engage the youth in the talent search and environmental care to reduce youth involvement in crimes. We have noticed with pity the way the youth particularly the African youth have dropped out of schools and involved themselves into Drug deals, alcohol, sex exploitation, theft and have moved from their homes to streets We would like to invite the youth to participate in the talent search, those who will participate will sign in to do community services (environmental care) and will gain a point after 10 hours of volunteering. we shall group the youth according to what they will do, e.g, soccer players will form a team and they will train and be send to Norway/Aberdeen for summer youth games, and the dancers will go to participate in Talent search in Ontario, for preliminaries. We would like to tap their different talents and support them for Independence. We would like to send out invites, whereby the youth will register freely, and we have set a date for 17th December when schools close for winter to be the day of Talent Search competition, the venue will be announces as we continue planning 1.The youth to get publicity, be encourage and supported to participate in these programs in Metro Vancouver and later proceed to participate in the Ontario events that will lead them to participate in the Talent search at the Western fair 2012. 2.Maintain same activities for sustainability, they will too benefit in the programs to reduce the crime involvements, meet with other youth and share their lives and make friendship 3.The talents search activities will help the youth reach their potential and become self-directing, autonomous adults 4.The youth in these groups will be those that will achieve a sense of genuineness and possess a drive toward the future, in a way that they believe in themselves and have a sense of inner confidence 5.The youth groups will Believe in what they would do, they will celebrate their actions and commitments, express a sense of hope, courage and their role in it, that will leads to a positive community change. Specific timeline, output for each step, recourse needed for each step Problem Statement/Project Rationale (specific activities) 6. It starts where you are and where you live, "here here". Donors to see us as partners not just recipients. Poverty index level among the Newcomers/immigrant has led to prevalence of crime rates in the youth, family conflicts, unemployment, Gender issues, Health, education, and environmental issues in its existing condition. Poverty has contributed immensely to the current Problems of high crime rates involving the youth. The homelessness youth at risk of gang, criminal involvements, sexual exploitation, drug abuse/sex trade, drug dealings and involvement in theft, school dropouts and family conflict, culture shock, life style, all these need inclusive action. Poverty expands healthcare costs, policing burdens and diminished educational outcomes. This in turn depresses productivity, labor force flexibility, life spans and economic expansion and social progress, all of which takes place at huge cost to taxpayers, federal and provincial treasuries and the robust potential of the Canadian consumer economy Sometimes, the only thing stopping great ideas from becoming reality is a little bit of capital,un-, languages, andavailable funding, exposure, being new, and fear Losing their talents-Canadian youth currently face challenging realities along their way to adulthood. From having fewer hours of contact with caring adults to facing a future of uncertain job security in a brutal economy, the factors influencing youth's quality of life and future potential are dramatically more complex and challenging than they were in the past. With parents working longer hours and the absence of grandparents and other community adults who used to make up support systems, the inter generational fabric of community has been frayed. Not forgetting family conflicts vises the system in place that is making parents feel they are loose their children to the same system Youth development strategies aim to reweave community fabric in a new way - one that supports/give opportunities to young people that they should have, and re-institutes them in the context of young people's realities today. While many of these realities are harsh ones, we know that young people themselves want to be involved in their communities. The importance of building positive youth/adult partnerships in this process cannot be stressed enough, to build youth developments they {youth} should be supported and be involved. Mobilization effort will be based on influencing three critical elements: information, attitudes, involvement. Transformation of each of these areas will be necessary condition for change. widening gap between the rich and the poor is creating greater social class diversity. communities contain a complex mix of races, culture
