The Boys and Girls Club of Brantford is a leading provider of afterschool and critical hours programs, recognized for sufficiently contributing to the healthy development of over 700 young people – especially those who needs us the most. We provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. The development and creation of a multi-media studio for children and youth, 5-21 years of age will provide unique opportunities that may not necessarily be readily accessible to them. A multi-media studio provides children and youth with access to equipment and resources in order to produce projects from start to finish. Children and youth will enhance their knowledge in the areas of graphic design, 3D development and audio/video production. Children and youth will be introduced to and use current industry software, learn how to design and manage a project and how to collaborate as a member of a team. This project will create numerous relationships and liaisons within the community by soliciting the support of industry related professions, developing partnerships and opportunities for the involvement of post-secondary institutions and the engagement of local media sources. In addition to expanding social networks, empowering our children and youth to development life skills, creating opportunities for creative design and expression, children and youth will become familiar and knowledgeable of the industry and potential academic and career opportunities that may be available to them. By working together with our families and community, in partnership with the public and private sector a multi-media studio is program which will assist the Boys and Girls Club of Brantford in creating healthy community solutions to providing children and youth with what they need for optimal development.
